Las Vegas Photographer for Weddings and Event Photography TiffanyG
Wedding Photography in Las Vegas - Weddings, Bridal Photos, Engagements, Families, Kids, Portraits, and Events.-
December 28th, 2009BraggingI’m so excited… we just added FOURTH and FIFTH National Awards in just the last three years! D.Jay’s Entertainment and TiffanyGPhoto has earned the 2010 Pick for Best of Weddings in Las Vegas from TheKnot AND the 2010 Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire! These 2 awards are based solely on bride recommendations and voting and are 2 of the 3 most prestigious awards for the wedding industry (as voted on by brides).
This marks the SECOND time we’ve won Best of Weddings from TheKnot. It’s also the SECOND time we’ve won the Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire.
The WeddingWire award is only given to the Top 5% of Wedding Vendors in the entire USA, and to win it TWICE is extremely difficult. It does prove our dedication to perfect customer service and high-quality photography and DJ services. When other companies claim to be “the best”, we don’t need to claim it- our brides shout it from the mountaintops!
I’m excited to be YOUR wedding photographer, so if you are getting married in Las Vegas or in surrounding states, please give me a call via my office at D. Jay’s Entertainment, 702-643-3529.

June 2nd, 2009BraggingWell, it’s 2:30 am here in Las Vegas, on an early Tuesday morning, and I’m in the process of moving all of my 12+ month-old images to a new “archive” hard drive, since both of my 1-TERABYTE (that’s 1000 gigabytes) external backup hard drives are FULL*. Before I did this move, I compiled some statistics…
Over the last 16 months, I have personally shot 107 Las Vegas Weddings, Engagement Sessions, and Proposals (and 1 in Chicago!). My assistants (and Jeremy) have shot an additional 56 photography events in Las Vegas.
At those weddings in Las Vegas (and the engagement sessions and marriage proposals), we had a total of 76,718 “keeper” photos. Now THAT is a LOT of photos! What boggles my mind is that either Jeremy or I edited and processed every single one of those photos!
I am busy… but I want my clients to know that I do remember each and every one of you! I can look at a few photos from an event and tell at least 3 stories about the happenings of that day - as a matter of fact, if you are a past bride, reply to this post and I’ll reply with a good story of my memory of your wedding!
I love wedding photography in Las Vegas. And as my past brides know, I get personally invested in every event. I consider each and every one of you a friend. And I thank you (again) for letting me be involved in your wedding day!
* For you techies, or if you are wondering how safe your images are, here’s what I do to keep your images safe:
- During events, I change memory cards every hour. This limits the (very very slight) risk of a memory card failure. I am proud to say that in the last 16 months I have lost only 40 images (out of 96,718) to memory card problems. I tell you this for a simple reason: most other photographers WILL NOT tell you this. Rest assured, the chances of losing photos is VERY slim - but I am constantly taking every precaution to limit the losses IF it were to happen.
- I “dump” my memory cards to our photo editing computer IMMEDIATELY after each event (even if it’s 2am).
- One the photos are “dumped”, I create my Lightroom Catalog and then BACK UP the catalog and all the images to TWO SEPARATE HARD DRIVES. At this point, there are THREE copies of your photos.
- One hard drive is kept at my house, another is kept in a secret location, and the “main” set is on the computer is in my office. So for me to completely lose your treasured photos would require THREE hard drives to fail/get stolen/etc. at the same time. This is next-to-impossible.
- Your images are kept for 12 months on the 2 backup drives. Then, once an event is 1 year old, it is “archived” to our new 1.5-Terabyte drive and removed from the 2 backup hard drives. The archive drive is kept in a locked, secure, and fireproof location.
Well, that’s what I do to keep your images safe! Hope you enjoyed all the details!

April 22nd, 2009BraggingHappy Earth Day! I wanted to take a quick moment to let you know what I am doing to stay “Green”.
- I shoot in Digital - No Film, No Negatives, No developing chemicals
- All of my packages include a DVD-Rom of all images
- My packages don’t include a lot of prints, and my clients can take prints out of their packages and save money
- My sales literature is all in PDF form and is emailed instead of printed and mailed
- My cameras use rechargeable batteries
- I invested over $600 into rechargeable power packs for my flashes instead of going thru 12-16 AA batteries per event.
- In my office, we use very little A/C - temp is set at 82 in the summer and we shut off the system when we’re not there.
- Our main lighting in the office is fluorescent and we are making a switch-over to LED lighting on the spotlights that shine on our demo photos.
- I don’t print “proofs”, all proofing is done online or in the office on the computer screen.
- All of my booking Agreements are emailed in PDF form instead of printed and mailed.
- I limit my paper use - my average booking uses only 2 to 5 pieces of paper.
- I shred paper waste and properly dispose and/or recycle.
Yes, I’m sure I could do more - and I am always looking for ways to get “Greener”. If you have any suggestions then feel free to post a comment!

April 16th, 2009BraggingOhh, I’m giddy! Just a couple days ago we took delivery of a brand new Dye Sublimation printer. This isn’t your $129 Sony consumer-level printer. This thing is a monster! It is made out of STEEL and weighs over 65 pounds! But, it’s PORTABLE. This is the printer that we are using for our “Photo Corner” (similar to a Photo Booth but better - more about that in a future post). The printer will print borderless 8×10 photos in less than 1 minute (or can print sheets of 5×7, 3×5, 4×6, wallet, anything!), and the prints can be glossy or with a light matte finish, and they are BEAUTIFUL. The paper is nice and thick and the colors are very bright with great saturation and clarity.
Here’s a promo pic from Shinko, I figured there’s no reason to take my own photo of it (there’s actually a piece that hooks into that slot so that it catches the prints as they come out):
I did a print and put it side-by-side with a print that we had made at our professionals-only print supplier (they only print for pro photographers), and there isn’t much of a difference! I’ll still be using the professional-only printing company for my high-level photography packages, but they are WAY better than any other on-site printing I’ve ever seen - and they are MUCH better than a Wal-Mart or Walgreens print!
I’ll be using this printer at wedding receptions when my brides opt for on-site printing of candid photos of their guests (so the guests can take the prints with them), as well as at some corporate events, and some school events. And, if any of my brides want a couple photos “right away”, this will be a great option!
I am SOO excited! Give me a call if you are interested in on-site printing for ANY event, or to add a “Photo Corner” to your wedding reception!

April 5th, 2009BraggingThis Las Vegas Wedding Photographer is off to Yosemite for a couple days. Can’t wait! The Ansel Adams Gallery is there and I think Jeremy and I are going to take a clinic on Landscape and Wildlife Photography. We aren’t landscape photographers so it will be an interesting change-of-pace. We’ll probably post a few photos when we get back!

Back in early January, I submitted 2 photos to a photo contest at Sahara Camera Center here in Las Vegas. The theme was “Tis The Season”. It took a while, but I found out a couple days ago that my photo was chosen as the winner! I won a nice (small) camera bag, which will come in handy for those Engagement Sessions where I don’t need to take ALL of my various equipment.
See, not ALL my work is Wedding Photography, although being a Wedding Photographer is my passion!
Here’s the photo that won the contest. It’s my nephew, and was not posed at all (well, the photo in the thought bubble was posed, but not the reaction to the present) - Click photo for larger version!
