I’m so excited… we just added FOURTH and FIFTH National Awards in just the last three years! D.Jay’s Entertainment and TiffanyGPhoto has earned the 2010 Pick for Best of Weddings in Las Vegas from TheKnot AND the 2010 Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire! These 2 awards are based solely on bride recommendations and voting and are 2 of the 3 most prestigious awards for the wedding industry (as voted on by brides).
This marks the SECOND time we’ve won Best of Weddings from TheKnot. It’s also the SECOND time we’ve won the Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire.
The WeddingWire award is only given to the Top 5% of Wedding Vendors in the entire USA, and to win it TWICE is extremely difficult. Had an absolute BLAST traveling to La Jolla California to shoot wedding photography for Evan and Sarah. Quite a difference from Las Vegas but a refreshing change of location!

Mario and Micky had a beautiful ceremony at St. Jude’s in Boulder City and then we did a Strip Tour with the entire wedding party. St. Judes is absolutely amazing, but small, with tons of color. So for this shoot I decided to process high-saturation and bright colors. I think this also matches Micky’s personality…
This first photo is after getting ready at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. Yes, I know I do this photo a lot but hey, if the brides love it then give them what they love!

Now off to the Strip…. I’ve done this shot a few times and I think this is the best one so far.

Surprisingly, this is NOT posed. The guys were waiting while I was shooting something else. This is one of the very few that I processed differently – I saw “Rat Pack” and “Classic Vegas” in this photo so I desaturated the colors and gave it a classic look. What’s funny is that I’ve spent several minutes “posing” similar photos to LOOK un-posed, but these guys just naturally made this near-perfect shot!

Ok, admittedly there’s a few technical posing things wrong with this photo but something about it makes me really like it. I think the weird “lean” that Mario is doing is a perfect compliment (contrast?) to the loose and fun pose for Micky. This is a love-it-or-hate-it shot. I love it but I’m sure many will hate it.

What a crazy day – shooting in 3 different locations with a HUGE wedding party. Mario and Micky were awesome, though, and the day was mega-fun!

John and Christina were married at the Platinum Hotel in Las Vegas. This is a GREAT location, just off the strip. The hotel is SO nice, and there’s an awesome patio on the top floor.
John and Christina are SO cool, so laid back, and SOOOO fun! Here’s a selection of some of my favorites – and it was hard to choose just 11…
One thing to mention – for some reason when I am in the Platinum I feel like it should be in a movie… so for this shoot I used a “film grain/film contrast” type processing on many of the photos. The process makes the photos look a little like they are from a movie camera – highly saturated, deep contrast, and not crystal-clear (a bit of grain).

Almost every shot during the ceremony was using “available light” (no flash). The Misora room has floor-to-ceiling windows and the lighting can be amazing!
