Wedding Photography in Las Vegas - Weddings, Bridal Photos, Engagements, Families, Kids, Portraits, and Events.-
June 17th, 2009Engagements, propose in las vegasEvert and Zenia came to Las Vegas with 2 different goals: Zenia’s goal was to help Evert have a great birthday weekend. Evert’s goal was to turn Zenia into his Fiancee!
Evert proposed in Las Vegas at the Bellagio, at the Picasso Restaurant which is right down at water-level with a great view of the fountains. Jeremy was the photographer for this event.
Some scene-setting photos, including a photo of a very expensive Picasso painting…
Here he goes, proposing in Las Vegas!
Zenia finally realizes there’s a photographer covering the proposal!
One of many photos with the fountains in the background.
Then it was off to the Las Vegas Sign - here’s a standard photo.
Zenia showing of the bling!
And Evert showing off the consequence of the bling!
Finally they got a few photos in the Conservatory inside the Bellagio.
Big congrats to Evert and Zenia for their engagement! We hope you come back to Vegas (or, bring us to California!) so we can shoot your wedding too!

April 3rd, 2009Strip Photography Tour, WeddingsKatrina and Jesse hired me to take after-wedding photos on the Las Vegas Strip earlier this week. This type of shoot makes me happy to be a Las Vegas Photographer! This one was fun! We rode in style in a huge 14 Passenger SUV Limo from Las Vegas Limo. This group was GREAT to work with… and they had an awesome time.
Here they are in the limo (don’t forget to CLICK on the photo to get a larger version!)
The wedding party having a blast outside of Bellagio. Check out the ringbearer’s pose!
Awwww….
A classic Lomo process on this photo gives it an “Old Vegas” type feel.
Here’s Jesse looking all handsome!
And Katrina looking hot (and showing some leg!). I just had to make this one black-and-white for that classic model look.
The lovebirds in front of Bellagio.
And here’s the same photo using selective color. I love them both and had a real hard time deciding which one I like the most. It was difficult getting rid of the beautiful greens since it’s spring.
More “Classic Las Vegas” type processing on this photograph, what a great looking group!
Off to the Las Vegas sign for some photos, I was going for a high-contrast look in this photo… dark blacks and bright whites.
In reality, it was very cloudy that day (I purposely “hid” the cloudiness in most of the pictures above). But here’s one with lots of contrast in the sky.
What a ham!!
Thanks Katrina and Jesse, had a blast!

November 24th, 2008Strip Photography Tour, WeddingsThis happens more often than people think… I received a call on a Tuesday, “We are eloping TOMORROW and need a photographer.” Turns out Giovana’s uncle was getting married and Chad and Giovana decided to also “take the plunge”. Giovana’s uncle makes wedding dresses so the dress was ready-to-go!
The Tropicana Wedding Chapel has a great “Walk-In” special going on right now: $99 for the ceremony and you can bring in your own photographer! My understanding is that there’s usually a bit of a wait, but $99 is a great deal for a super chapel!
I was able to spend about 1.5 hours with this lovely couple and we ended up with 162 “keepers”. I did special effects to about 10 of them. Here’s a few of my favorites:
During the ceremony… don’t his eyes make you melt?!?
Afterwards, we were able to take photos around the Tropicana Casino and Hotel’s grounds. I have been loving this special effect and I thought this made the photo look like something out of a fairy tale book:
On to the Bellagio Fountains for photos:
It’s funny, Chad wasn’t sure that the camera would pick up the water in the fountains. I told him it would! I shot this photo both ways: With Chad’s eyes open, and with them closed. He just looked so content with his eyes closed that I decided I liked this one the best of the two…
He looks so dapper, and she looks so happy!
I had asked Chad to do his own pose, I thought this was extremely cute!
And finally, from a bit earlier, this one looks more like a painting than a photo.
Congratulations you two! Hope you really enjoyed your Las Vegas Wedding!

June 11th, 2008Strip Photography Tour, WeddingsRobert and Melody are natural models, and both of them were GORGEOUS! We had an absolute blast on our Las Vegas Strip Photography Tour just before their wedding ceremony. I couldn’t believe how relaxed they were, even considering they were getting married in just a couple hours!
We spent 2 hours visiting the famous Welcome “To Las Vegas” sign, then to New York New York, Bellagio (inside and out), and Paris.
When it was all said-and-done, I had over 200 pictures which edited down to around 160 nice ones, and I did “special processing” to about 30 of them.
I’ve had a lot of prospective clients and viewers of this blog ask HOW I do this processing. I’m not one to keep secrets so I’ll describe the processing as I post the photos… I won’t get too technical, don’t worry!
This processing included a color saturation effect, a bit of a dreamy blur, some very specific adjustment of light/dark in certain parts of the photo, and one of my client’s favorites: “glam blur”. The overall effect of the processing makes the photo very “colorful” and the glam blur gives the skin a nice natural smooth look (and reduces wrinkles which was NOT needed for this shoot):
Isn’t this ADORABLE? As I said, they were great at taking suggestions and this was one of the first photos I snapped at this location. Perfect! Processing is similar to the above photo.
For this photo, I wanted to portray a “dreamy” or “floating” feeling. I purposefully over-exposed the background (see how it’s too bright?) and then made the photo into two “layers”. On the top layer, I used a heavy blur effect, then I selectively “erased” the blurring effect on the important parts (their faces and bodies). I left some of their bodies blurry to increase the dream effect.
I know I’ve already done a shot SORT OF like the following (see Marius and Tamika’s blog post). After I took that shot I had been waiting to get another couple to the same location to make the shot a little better. This one is more posed and has a bit more processing.
It’s the “standard” process for Selective Color, basically I have a color layer and a b/w layer in Photoshop. The b/w layer is on top and I selectively “erase” portions of that layer to let the color show through from the bottom. On this shot, it’s only the “passion” words. I also did some blurring of the far background and a gradient blur of the edge of the post (so the front edge is less blurred than the rear).
I asked the couple to have some fun in front of the fountain and got about 10 nice shots. These three seemed to fit together very well for a “series” type photo. All I did was create a new file and paste the photos into it, then put a thin black line between each photo, and added a frame. The processing on the photos below was just some saturation and light/dark levels.
Remember, click on ANY photo in my blog to see a larger version. This one should probably be clicked!
After the shoot, Robert and Melody left for the airport (helipad) and were married in a helicopter above the city at sunset. How cool is that!?!?

March 21st, 2008WeddingsFirst-Class ALL THE WAY. This is how I’ll always remember this wedding. Amazing ceremony and reception at the Bellagio. Lobster and Filet. They hired D. Jay’s Entertainment to provide the DJ, a String Quartet, a Saxophone player for during the cocktail hour, plus photography and videography.
But, David and Lorena… completely down-to-earth. Take a look at this beautiful shot of the dress with Lorena looking out the window onto the courtyard.. and don’t forget you can click on ANY photo in my blog in order to see it in a larger size!
Lorena showed so much emotion throughout the day, it was hard to pick just a couple photos, isn’t she beautiful?
The love that these two shared was obvious. This shot is from their first dance…
Lorena wanted a “Rat Pack” type photo of the guys in the wedding party. The Bellagio made a great backdrop for my interpretation, and with some creative processing to the photo (to make it look like an old lomographic photo from “back in the day”) I really think it POPS!
Oh, and to the moms of the younger guys, don’t worry - the cigars were still in their wrappers!
Thank you to David and Lorena and also to Leslie at the Bellagio!
