Jeremy and I spent an hour with Will, Cherry, and their two wonderful children (remember, we don’t post names of kids on our blog) yesterday. They are an awesome family! Their son is just 5 years old and is quite the camera-ham! Their daughter is absolutely beautiful and took a while to warm up, but we got some very good ones of her too!

Will and Cherry are getting married next month and we’re really hoping to earn their wedding-day business… as part of the Bridal Spectacular, we offered them a FREE 1-hour engagement session so we could get to know them better. It seems that we all get along very well so we’ll see!

This blog will be a mix of Engagement photos and Family Portrait/Family Photography. As with a lot of our private sessions, Jeremy and I work together; he is usually the one clicking the shutter and I use my “eye” to find great locations and poses… We had a blast working together for this short (1-hour) shoot:

This photo was only the 4th “click” of the day – and it was hard to choose between the first 4…

Now, mom and dad… the processing on this one is called “Summer Haze”, and we did our own tweaking to it.

Off to the playground…

Of course Will and Cherry hopped on, too!

Walking to the next location, Jeremy caught the kids playing around a yellow pole. Amazing how a great “eye” can see an interesting shot, huh?

This park (almost) has it all… waterfall, fun playground, a cool brick wall, bridges, etc.  These 3 shots (obviously) are from the brick wall area…

Off to the bridge, and the little guy was clowning around – this one is actually not posed at all… just his reaction after the camera was pointed at him.

Lots of color at the park but we have to get a few black-and-whites in… here’s one of them.

Now it’s time for the love-it-or-hate-it photo. The famous (infamous?) “bobble head” shot. Like it or not, it’s FUN and loose.

Then we made our way back to the waterfall area for some sunset-type, posed family shots. We looked up and saw an amazing sunset – and got this photo:

Thanks to all 4 of you for an enjoyable hour! Can’t wait until this Sunday where you’ll see all 175 or so “keepers”!

What a great couple!  We’re shooting Tiffany and Travis’ wedding in October and their package included an Engagement Session. They really wanted to go up on Mt. Charleston to “play in the snow” and we were all for it! What turned out was an hour at a local park, then a jaunt up to the mountain for another hour. So, with 70 degree weather at the park, and 30 degree weather and snow on the mountain, it turned out to be one of the most “varied” shoots we’ve done!

A photo style we call “natural habit”, meaning not posed and using a zoom lens to do our best to capture our subjects being natural. Make sure you click on the photos so you can see the larger versions!

A neat posed photo, the last one that I’ll post from the park (we got over 100 there), because … well you’ll see why!

We got up to the mountain and found there wasn’t much snow, and what snow there was, was hard-packed. Tiffany doesn’t look TOO cold, does she?

Jeremy and I always argue about the “cold tone” processing. It obviously enhances the blues and makes the photo look “cold”. It’s a really neat effect but obviously with wedding photography we don’t get much of a chance to use it!  Well, if there was any time that it was appropriate, it was for these two shots:

Don’t worry, Tiffany and Travis get both versions (normal, and “cold tone”). Here’s a photograph we love, probably one of our favorites from the shoot:

They wanted to get pictures having fun in the snow, so how about sliding down the icy hill?

By then, the sun was going down so we had to rush to the other side of the mountain to catch the sun setting. We were a little bummed, about 5 or 10 minutes past “prime” time but I think they still came out pretty good:

And I know we do this shot a lot but this photo came out so nice… (and yes, Travis.. the “other one” came out very nice too).

Overall we’ll end up with around 300 “keepers”. And we can’t wait for October to be able to work with Tiffany and Travis again!

What the hey… BONUS PIC!  Neither Jeremy or I are “landscape” photographers and we had the wrong lens on for this one, but it’s still pretty cool!

Are you asking “how do I propose to my girlfriend” and are you in Las Vegas or want to propose in Las Vegas?

Well, I’m looking for romantic guys (and the Sadie-Hawkins type girls!),  who want to document their actual PROPOSAL. Think about it, you just spent 6-months salary (right?) on the ring, you’ve thought of this really cool way to propose… but the only people who will remember it will be YOU and YOUR GIRL!

Anyway, you need to capture this very special moment… AND BE ABLE TO SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY! So have us do photos of your proposal!  I am great at “sniper” photography with my telephoto lens. Neither of you will know I’m there until after the proposal (of course the proposal has to be in a public place so I can blend in).

With photos of your marriage proposal, your girl will be able to see those pictures anytime she wants, brag to her friends, and remember that special moment. And, believe me, every time she looks at them I’m pretty sure you’ll have a nice benefit from it (nudge nudge, wink wink).

I’ve done several proposal photographs including: Michael and Esther , Evert and Zenia, Joseph and Ashley, and Diante and Tasha. So take a look at those Las Vegas Proposal Photos for ideas and samples!

Cost for wedding proposal photography is only $175/hour and can usually be done in 1 to 1.5 hours. This also includes a disc of all edited images with full printing rights, as well as a password-protected online gallery so you can show them off to your friends and family.

Oh, and when you totally fall in love with my work, I’ll give you a great deal on your engagement photos and wedding-day photography, AND when you hire me for those events, I’ll credit back the money you spent on the Proposal Photos! You can’t go wrong!

Let’s get this set up… call me at 702-643-3529 so we can work out the details… oh, and congratulations in advance on your future engagement!
