Wedding Photography in Las Vegas - Weddings, Bridal Photos, Engagements, Families, Kids, Portraits, and Events.-

Ryan and Zareena are such a cute couple. They are very laid back and really “get along”. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Texas Station, followed by a reception just down the hall, with DJ Jimmy from D. Jay’s Entertainment.
There’s a big selection of photos here, from detail pictures, dancing photos, ceremony photos, pictures of cute little flowergirls, and general fun. Here’s Zareena just before the ceremony, looking beautiful!
There were THREE Flowergirls, each one just as cute as heck! Here they come during the processional…

The flowergirls after the ceremony during the formals…
…then making faces at Ryan and the Groomsmen during their formals…
Here’s Zareena in one of her formals…

Now for the wedding reception… here’s a few “details” shots:
Zareena and her dad having a great time… just FYI I was using the off-camera strobes at this reception so you’ll see the photos are all nice and bright/crisp.
Zareena and her friends having a great time….
Ryan and Zareena dancin’ the night away - I just LOVE these 2 shots of the group, plus the depth and lighting is pretty cool!
Last one - a little montage of the flowergirls.
So I hope that’s a good representation of the entire event - it’s always SO hard to pick 10-15 photos out of hundreds! Congrats to Ryan and Zareena!

March 26th, 2009EngagementsI had the pleasure of working with Ricky and Jennifer a couple weeks ago for a 1-hour basic Engagement Session down at Lake Las Vegas. We battled wind and very bright sun the entire time but they were troopers! I think this couple really compliments each other and they seemed to know what each other were thinking (already! Heck it took Jeremy and me 15 years to figure that out!)
As I post this, Ricky and Jennifer haven’t even seen any of the photos yet, so I picked out my 8 favorites and did some work on them. I hope you guys like’em!
This is one of the first photos we took after we found a little shady area. Oh, I forgot to mention they brought their little dog who was SO cute and well-behaved!
(clicky-clicky for larger versions!)
Betcha you didn’t know there is a beach in Las Vegas!
This one is small and has man made sand but hey, it’s a beach!Jennifer is absolutely beautiful!
Ricky ain’t so bad either… here’s one where he’s trying to show a little attitude. Dig the shades!
Here’s another focus on Ricky.
And the two of them together overlooking the lake:
They were wearing such bright colorful clothese that I hated to do much black/white processing but these two shots just begged to be made ‘classic’. This one I added a slight touch of “film grain”, so it would be a bit Casablanca-like.
I am always torn as to which photo is my favorite, but I’m pretty sure this one is… (and no, Ricky, it’s NOT because your face is covered!) The reason is because Jennifer just looks like she’s in Heaven - she’s just SO happy and naturally beautiful!
We ended up with just short of 100 photos in this shoot. I know that’s not as many as I normally get in a 1-hour photoshoot, but there’s a LOT of walking from place-to-place at Lake Las Vegas. Thank you Ricky and Jennifer for allowing me to work with you!

March 25th, 2009EngagementsWe took Christina and Jeff about 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas to a location that used to be pretty “secret”, but now is becoming pretty popular with photographers. If you remember a couple months ago we got some cool off-camera lighting? Well it’s not really portable as in being able to carry/move it around constantly - but we decided to try it with Christina and Jeff. I think they thought it was pretty funny watching me carry the big flash with umbrella around for 1.5 hours!
What you will notice on this shoot is the interesting lighting effect - the flash was almost always off-center which gives the photos a different (and we think, better) look.
Jeremy did the actual shooting here, with both of us collaborating on poses and lighting. Christina and Jeff were GREAT, and a lot of fun. They were open to any fun stuff we threw at them, too!
We started out in the old barn, so some “vintage” type processing was a must… (don’t forget to click for larger version!)
Here’s our “front-and-back” set of poses that we always get, but we always try to do it a bit differently…
Can’t you just picture them, like 50 years from now, sitting in an old wooden chair on their front porch, in the same pose?
The last of the “posey-formalish” shots…
I just LOVE the expressions here - this one is after Jeremy cracked some sort of joke and snapped right at the perfect moment…
Oops, one more posed photo…
Now I’m going to warn some of my more conservative/traditional readers that these next photos all have a LOT of processing. I think the processing is complimentary to the photos, but you’ll need to look at these with an “artistic” eye… OK?
There’s this other barn-thing on the property and we’d been wanting to do a shot like this…
Now I know that Christina and Jeff aren’t looking at each other on that one, so we continued the series of photos with these two… and if you look close, you can see the interesting lighting (note the shadows on the RIGHT side of everything? That’s because the flash was way off to the left.
Anyone who remembers the infamous “bobble head” photos - well this one isn’t quite as extreme but the effect is still pretty cool:
At this point, it’s getting pretty dark and usually we’d be done - but we had the high-powered flash so we kept on shooting. And we ended up with one of our most favorite photos of the evening (and by the way, the sky isn’t artificially colored - there’s some tweaking to the saturation and vividity but that’s it):
And now it was DARK… a 5 minute walk to the old plane “crash” site just to experiment with shadows and harsh lighting (on purpose). Not everyone would like this style but you have to admit it’s interesting!
Afterwards, Jeff and Christina agreed to let us REALLY experiment with something called “painting with light”. I’ll be blogging that sometime in the near future. In the meantime, we are really looking forward to shooting their wedding and reception in October!

March 17th, 2009EngagementsThese two are a crack-up! We had a quick engagement session on the Las Vegas Strip, just 1 hour but we ended up with over 100 unique photos. Melissa had made some custom Pirate hats, and hers had a veil on it, so I had to do my signature veil-shot!
For new readers, make sure you click on each photo for a cool pop-up larger version!
This is what I had to “put up” with (and I say that in jest and with love for Josh and Melissa)… they crack each other up!
And here’s the back of the cool Pirate hats Melissa made, aren’t they cool?!?
I think Josh tends to say things a bit under his breath that gets Melissa smiling - and that’s AWESOME! One of the keys to a great relationship is to be able to get each other to laugh!
Turn-around is fair play, right?
They had fun looking at all the sites!
And here they are in a very warmly-processed photo, suited to Josh and Melissa’s personalities.
Josh and Melissa are so cool that they even came and joined D. Jay’s Entertainment at our karaoke event at Sierra Gold (Warm Springs and Stephanie). They are a blast, and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Springs Preserve!

March 13th, 2009WeddingsChelsea and Mike are such a cute couple! You could just SEE the love in their eyes. And they were SO relaxed… even after Mike’s button popped off literally seconds before the ceremony!
It was a very bright and sunny day, with an outside ceremony in the very beautiful lawn area outside the Lodge at JW Marriott. Here’s 10 of my faves!
Isn’t Chelsea absolutely gorgeous?!? I just LOVE the natural sunlight, and her bouquet was absolutely amazing.
Here’s a fun shot that I do when we have a nice mirror. It’s cool to show off the ring as well as the bride’s smile.
Then, once the button was fixed, it was time for the ceremony. She’s just glowing!
I’ve posted a lot of ceremony shots lately so I’ll skip those on this one… moving on to post-wedding “formals” and posed photos.
Didn’t have to do much processing with this one, Chelsea’s eyes were amazing and I wanted this one to be as natural as possible…
A fun candid moment. What a cute expression!
I love it when I can do this shot - it takes a beautiful dress and an outside location but it’s always a beautiful photo.
Chelsea and Mike had a lot of fun at their reception, using DJ Larry from D. Jay’s Entertainment.
I love cake cutting photos, and I was able to get a really neat angle on this one.
I’d love to show all of the 750+ photos I took in this 4-hour event, but there’s just not room! I hope everyone enjoys the photos as much as I enjoyed working with Chelsea and Mike!
