Las Vegas Photographer for Weddings and Event Photography TiffanyG
Wedding Photography in Las Vegas - Weddings, Bridal Photos, Engagements, Families, Kids, Portraits, and Events.-

Before I tell you how cool Conney and Hoover are, I have to brag a little bit: I got some new toys! I’ve never been a “studio” photographer… it’s just not for me. However, lately my wedding photography clients and also some corporate clients have been asking for “portraits”. That would be more formal stuff, with a backdrop, etc. etc. Previously, I’d been using on-camera flash and it was “ok” but not up to my standards. So, recently I was able to purchase two off-camera strobes, umbrellas, soft box, stands, a giant battery, wireless transmitter/receivers, etc.
I have to say, the clarity, lighting and overall look of my “portrait” photos have improved an amazing amount!
That said, let’s talk about Conney and Hoover and their wonderful family. They hired me to attend their pre-wedding event (the day before the wedding). Originally it was planned to possibly do a Strip Tour or some outside shooting, but it evolved into a simple in-suite portrait session with their extended family. For brides and grooms whose familys just don’t have many “formal” photos, this is a great option. You get bridal/wedding photography AND family portraits all in one session!
I made everyone “suffer” though formal shots for a while… here’s some of those. Note: If the images look “fuzzy” to you, you’re probably using FireFox and have your “Zoom” set to larger than normal. Fix this by clicking on the photo! Heck, everyone should click on the image to see the larger image anyway! Plus you get to see my new plug-in that displays the photo in cool Flash-based pop-up thingamagig!
Here’s 4 generations…
Parents:
Got a bunch of formal Bride and Groom shots but wanted to show this one, classic B/W processing…
Hoover:
Then, Hoover pulled out his “paparazzi pose” - which started off our more “fun” portion of the night:
You really didn’t think I could spend ALL the time taking the formals, did you? Sisters!
Being goofy!
Taa DAAA!! (keep ahold of that baby!)
This one took them a little out of the expected area for photos (hence, the leaves in the top-left) but the shot was hilarious so I wanted to show it!
Had a blast at this event, even though it was just supposed to be a “simple” portrait session. Being Las Vegas, we had to get just a little crazy, and Conney and Hoover were the perfect, FUN couple to do it!

December 17th, 2008WeddingsI’m a little bit behind in blogging this event which was in mid-November at one of my favorite venues, the Southwest Event Center at the Hampton Inn Tropicana here in Las Vegas. As I’ve said before, I love working with Lorin!
Instead of posting the typical reception shots (and I got several hundred of those), I wanted to show some creative photos I took of the bride and groom before and after the reception. The Hampton Inn/Southwest Event Center has a great pool area with brightly-colored furniture, and Rose’s brightly-colored bouquet really looked great. It was such a beautiful day and a great-looking couple.
A dreamy kiss:
I haven’t posted this type of photo for a while, but as my clients know, it’s one I consider a “signature” shot… many photographers do this shot but I do it just a little differently. Usually I’ll make it black-and-white with some grainy texture added, and call it my “Casablanca” style shot, but I couldn’t get rid of all that COLOR for this one!
Gary had some fun with this one:
I slightly de-saturated the color in this one, added a bit of glow to this one. Anyone wondering what that green circle is, that’s “lens flare” and yes, it was on purpose for this shot!
Of course I always get a ring shot, and I think I’m pretty good at them (if I do say so myself), but this one I consider one of my very best. This ring photo is almost straight from my camera, just a slight crop and a tiny bit of sharpening on the ring. Isn’t the saturation and depth-of-field just amazing?!?
I was able to do a few black-and-white photos; for most clients, they’d get more, but really I couldn’t bear to get rid of all the color… this shot was a quick set-up actually in the hallway of the Event Center, using only the window light. I added some cross-hatch texture to the photo (but of course not on Rose’s face!)
Thanks to Rose and Gary for letting me be a part of their special day. You guys were great!

December 10th, 2008UncategorizedWe met Jeremy and Dee Dee almost a year ago and have been working with them for their wedding since then. What a cool couple! DeeDee is beautiful and Jeremy is quite a looker, too! Wendhy and I shot this event, and we had a blast. Below are a few of our favorites!
Note: I seem to be having some issues with image quality with the newest update of WordPress. The fuzzy images are due to the compression by WordPress, so click on the image to see the larger, clearer image! Plus you get to see my new plug-in that displays the photo in cool Flash-based pop-up thingamagig!
The groomsmen and Jeremy (in the white shoes, of course) relaxing before the ceremony:
Technically this one was taken after DeeDee arrived, but I was in the “groomsmen” groove…
DeeDee’s arrival, taken from a “2nd Photographer” perspective. For those brides that I talk about using a 2nd Photographer, this is what I mean… great pics, but from a completely different perspective!
Both of us were shooting from about the same spot for this one, matter of fact I don’t recall which one of us took this actual shot!
An old-photo style processing for this one, PLEASE click to see the larger version, the compression by WordPress really made this one blurry in thumbnail view!
Close-up of some details; dress and bouquet - using only available light (no flash):
One from the ceremony… FIRST KISS!
After the ceremony, we shot around 1000 pictures at the reception, and they came out great… but I’ve posted too many “party” shots lately so I’m sticking with the wedding-related ones this time!

December 4th, 2008FamilyAdmittedly I don’t do a lot of family portraits or family photography in Las Vegas, but family photos are very similar to wedding photography and engagement sessions. I really enjoy working with kids (as my regular readers know from all the “cute little girl” photos I’ve been posting from my weddings)!
As a sidenote, for any of my family portraits I do not use my subject’s names when I post them in my blog; I do have permission to post the kids photos but we want to be as careful as possible not to have privacy issues. So, I apologize for using “the son” and “the daughter” type language instead of the first names!
Anyway, last week I worked with a great family - the son is friends with our son and they played on the same baseball team. We went out near Red Rock and had a good time with mom, the 2 kids, and 2 dogs!
For anyone NOT from Las Vegas, to answer the question… YES we have trees that change colors and lose their leaves in the fall!
Just the kids together:
The son with his dog…
A very warm, summery process was used on this photo… isn’t she adorable?!!?
Had some fun with what I call the “bobble head” photo. Wide angle lens about 6″ from the subject’s face results in this very interesting perspective… and I must say - this young lady had REFUSED at first to show her teeth when she smiled - she opened right up and was comfortable with us within just a few shots! And, near the end of the session, I was honored when she asked me to call her by her “short” name instead of her “formal” name… especially after her mom explained that only her friends and family are allowed to do that!
We stayed until nearly dark. This photo required a flash AND a reflector to help make the subjects “pop” while still maintaining the AMAZING color of the sky and the clouds.
Jeremy and I really enjoyed this session, thanks guys!

December 3rd, 2008FamilyWay back in August we left Las Vegas and went back “home” to Michigan for a vacation. While we were there, we did portrait sessions with our sons, our nieces and nephews. You know how they always say, “Doctor, Heal Thyself”… well surprisingly I don’t have a lot of photos of our sons! And, when I do take them, I rarely do any post-processing. So, this year I decided to finally do full processing on some photos and give them as gifts to our family.
This series was taken (obviously) on the banks of a river in Michigan… although for this first pic you can’t really see the river!
Out over the river, some selective-coloring done to this one…
Sun was harsh that day and I didn’t bring my entire set-up from Las Vegas so I had to make due… but here’s another of our little one…
Our older one just had braces put on about 2 months prior to this shoot, and of course was a little self-conscious about them, so no luck getting him to smile…
A few days later we went to Jeremy’s parent’s house (an old farm) and got a ton of photos in-and-around their old barn. This was one of my faves…
And this one, too…
Here’s our sons with two of Jeremy’s nieces…
Oh, look for a very special announcement tomorrow!

This is the Las Vegas Wedding that I was honored to be involved with as the photographer last weekend. Sheree and Matthew are a great couple, and Sheree was an absolutely beautiful bride. Sheree wanted mostly non-traditional photography so a lot of the photos are basic photojournalistic style.
I did want to show a couple shots that I post-processed to include some new “textures” that I just acquired. As of this writing, Sheree hasn’t even seen them, and to be honest I don’t think they are her “style”, but of course I’m giving her multiple versions of each photo (including the non-textured versions). I was just so excited to try out the textures, though! You get a better effect by clicking on the photos to see the larger version.
This little girl was the flowergirl, I just loved the natural light from the window lighting up her cute little face!
Very very light texture on this, a grainy look…
Sheree with her daughter in a tender moment before the ceremony.
Another one of her daughter, totally fascinated by the flowers…
Now to the ceremony. This is a shot I always do my best to get - the grooms reaction to seeing his bride for the first time. The smiles (and sometimes tears) always make a great memory.
While Matthew was smiling, ringbearer Dalton was somehow surprised by the horseshoe (click to enlarge and see some of the details, including the rings!)
The ceremony was very laid-back, and as I’ve mentioned before, it’s always easy to get great wedding photos when the bride (and groom) have big-ole’ smiles!
We didn’t really do many “formals” after the wedding but I was able to get a few. A very non-traditional pose (usually the bride is in front, but putting her behind the groom “loosens” the photo a bit…and the angle loosens it even further). Fun!
Told you Sheree was fun! They all laughed when I said, “ok, let’s do one in the bounce-house!”. Yes, Sheree, IN YOUR DRESS!
I had a blast shooting this wedding, and the 1000+ photos will create great memories for Matthew and Sheree and their family. I know they had a good time too… they kept Larry, the DJ from D. Jay’s Entertainment, for 2 extra hours! What a party!
